Cover starts with public liability insuance and can be extended to include employers liability and tools equipment insurance.
Public Liability Insurance
Will cover you against any injury caused to your customers or the public or damage to their property as a result of your work.
Claims Example: An electrician incorrectly installed a heating system causing a fire in a commercial premises. Claim made: £45,000.
Employers Liability Insurance
Will cover your employees against accident, injury and death sustained whilst working for you. If you have employees (or part time staff & subcontractors) a minimum £5,000,000 employers liability cover is a legal requirement.
Claims Example: A sub-contractor builder fell of a ladder whilst repairing a masonary structure, suffering injuries. Claim made: £15,000.
Tools Equipment Insurance
Will cover you for lost or damaged tools and cover against trade materials.
Claims Example: A contractor had a tool kit stolen whilst working on a building site. Claim made: £2,500 |
